Chad Hutchinson was actually a worse MLB baseball player than NFL QB. He gave up 3 home runs and 6 walks in 4 innings during is stint with the Cardnials in 2001. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hutchch01.shtml

It was a strange game. How many other games can one point to and say that 3 different NFL QBs lost their jobs? Actually, I can think of anohter. The final game of the 2002 season. Chicago was hosting Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football. Gruden was resting his starter and put in Rob Johnson at QB. The Bears gave Henry Burris his only NFL start. Rob Johson would never again start in the NFL. Late in the 4th Quarter, Burris was benched in favor of little known Cory Sauter. After five years in the league, Sauter was finally getting his chance to play in an NFL game. He tried to make the most of his single drive, completing 6 of 9 passes and rushed twice for 8 yards. Afterward, Burris returned to the CFL. Sauter returned to the Colts practice squad, never to play again. All of his stats were recorded in a single drive in a meanless game, but to him, it was his Super Bowl.

Nice research Rob. I definitely remember the game. Hutchinson must have started the next game after Dallas. What a mirage that guy was for three games.

Interesting trivia. Jonathan Quinn's last NFL action was Thanksgiving Day 2004 against Dallas, the highest rated regular season game that year. He replaced Craig Krenzel. They were both so bad that neither of them would ever take an NFL snap afterward. On the other side of the field, the Cowboys gave the first and only NFL start to Drew Henson. Drew would not see an NFL field again until 4 years later as part of the 0-16 Lions. After the 1st half, Coach Parcells pulled the plug on Henson and put in Vinny Testaverde who showed why even at the age of 40+ he was still on an NFL roster.
