Or at least he’s ready to tear it up according to a comment-poster at www.profootballtalk.com. You have to love the ability for anyone to leave any comment anonymously these days. In an article quoting new Redskin coach Mike Shanahan talk about his quarterback situation, commenter “Rex Grossman” (what else) writes:
Yes! Sexy Rexy Gunslinger Grossman returns!
This made my day. The man is a true legend. Injury after injury in Chicago and fans bashing him down, he would always fight back and conducted himself in a way that really makes you pull for him. Unlike Kyle Orton and Jay Cutler.
As for his play, yeah the costly errors are there. But so his arm. Dude has a cannon and when he’s on, he is ON. If he can eliminate the errors he can be an elite quarterback. MVP talks half way through the ’06 season. The most memorable time I’ve been apart of as a lifetime Bears fan. I would love to have him back in Chicago. But I’m glad he’s getting a shot with a coaching staff that knows what they’re doing. Seriously, this is awesome. Redskins fans are in for a surprise.
Seriously! I just thought everyone would love this. Let’s remember, Grossman got into a game, one game I believe, in Houston last year, and he was the same old Rex, going 3/9 with 1 interception on the season.
I’ll remind everyone, I was never one of the complete Rex bashers when he was here. I just think anyone that thinks “he has a cannon for an arm and he’s back” is crazy.
Then again, it will be interesting to see if coaches other than Lovie Smith and Ron Turner can get any more out of him.
