Seahawk Win Harder than Should Have Been

But a win is a win.  Yesterday is what happens when you let the opposition score early and don’t take advantage of your own plentiful opportunities.  But in the end, the Bears pulled out a 25-19 victory at Seattle.

How much can be said for the fact that for the second week, the opponent’s kicker missing multiple field goals ended up being the difference in points?

Good to see the legend of Johnny Knox continuing to grow.

How many people that wanted to get rid of Jay Cutler after one week still think he’s not the answer for the Bears?

How do the 49ers give up that last-second touchdown to Brett Favre and the Vikings?  How?

With the tough 3-game stretch for the Bears, it was conceivable they could have started the season 1-3 while everyone got acclimated.  Now with a win over the Lions they could go into the bye 3-1.  I’ll take that.  Just can’t rely on the opponent’s kicker from here on.

  1. whoever jumped the jay bandwagon… your spot was NOT saved. your starting to see now what jay can do and thats win games. bears could have very very easily lost the steelers game and this seasquack game. knox is stepping up very nicely but ruuning game and defense have to start doing better. forte should be at or around 300 yrds right now. MLB are dropping like flies.

  2. Man, I was wrong about this one!!!!
I expected the Bears to go into QWEST field and make it their own house and beat the Seahawks easily. When it was 13-0 in favor of Seattle I started to question how this could happen.
The offensive line is to blame for the crappy running game. They have excelled in pass protection but they are not the grinders i am used to seeing in the trenches. What happened to Bears football?
I am guessing they will work on opening holes a bunch this weak.
I never jumped off the Cutler bandwagon and I am glad I didn’t because we have something special in Chicago at the quarterback position. Protect Jay and I will forgive a dreary run game (for awhile). Also do not forget that if you take away 2 long runs from GOre the Seahawks run defense was not too bad. The 2 scampers really skewed the numbers. Forte needs one good scamper to build his confidence. COME ON O-LINE!!
Nick Roach and Jammar Williams performed admirably when Hillenmeyer went out with a rib injury.
I am beginning to think that the Bears field goal block team may be forcing kickers to rush their kicks. It seems to me that they are getting penetration. NO BLOCKS YET but I think at least 2 of the 4 misses this year are due to the Bears getting into the backfield causing the kicker to panic.
jay CLUTCHler is showing he can go down the field and get the lead and the DEFENSE is showing they can hold a lead. I see good things.
THE LIONS BEAT THE SKINS AT HOME!!!! Do not overlook Detroit. They will no longer be a second bye week.
I will cover one more thing. Is Daneael Manning impressing everyone else? I am so glad to see him living up to his potential. In a game full of dreadful tackling. D. Manning was wrapping up. The eaay score that J.JOnes got because both tacklers went for the strip was ridiculous. they could have forced him out of bounds so easily.
You may not see headlines about D. Manning but he is a sound tackler, he is always where he needs to be and he is a tough guy.
Sorry so long but I had a lot of thoughts come to mind after this game.
    GO BEARS!!!!

  3. I don’t know, I think the o-line did better this week with the running game, but Forte just looked pedestrian. Is it just me, or does it seem like he’s lost a step? I didn’t judge him the first 2 games since it seem he had no holes to run through, but he had holes in this game and did almost nothing with them.
Yes D. Mannning is looking good so far. Agreed, Detroit won’t be an easy win like they were last year, no reason to assume this Bears team will easily beat them. Talk about winning ugly.

  4. Yeah Perno. I agree that Forte could probably use a quicker step but the holes that the OLINE is opening get him to the line of scrimmage. We neee Omiyale to learn how to pull and get into the second level. Guards have to be quick and be able to pull and get into the second level on a LB
