A day after trading for former Bear safety Chris Harris, the Bears have shipped Kevin Payne to St. Louis for an undisclosed 2011 draft pick.

Who wants to guess it’s a seventh-rounder?

We wish Payne the best of luck, but I can’t say I’ll miss him.  Some said he was a big hitter….I remember more him winding up to make a big hit, while in the meantime the runner cut to miss him.  Or failures to wrap up after the big tackle.

I feel better about the Bears backfield today than I did two days ago, that’s for sure.
