The ’05 Busts Have Homes

I was surprised when I saw yesterday that Cedric Benson was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals.  Believe it or not, I’m even more surprised that Mark Bradley was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs.  I just didn’t see anyone having interest in Bradley.

Benson deserves to be where he’s at, on a 0-4 perpetually losing team.  I expect to see his normal sluggish, non-chalant demeanor on the field, not that I’ll be catching to Bengals often.  He signed a one-year deal for the league minimum, which is still loads and loads more money than most of us make.

It will be interesting to see if Bradley is given more of a chance in KC.  Still wish I knew what his issues in Chicago were.

Onward and upward for the Bears, right?

  1. On a side note, Mike Mette, the Chicagoan who was arrested for hitting a drunk man one time who tried to fight him in Iowa, was just found innocent. The court overturned the case this morning. The story can be found on the Tribune’s website. After reading your “A Bear’s fan in need” blog, I really felt for this man and am utterly ashamed that we live in a day and age where a man can’t defend himself without going to jail for it. It is such bullshit that he had to serve the time in the first place. I would be more than happy to pitch in to buy this man a ticket to the first Bear’s game he is able to see once he get’s out.

  2. I hear you Higgins….I just sent him a copy of my book last week. I hope he’s out by the time his parents give it to him (he can’t get mail of that kind in the joint). Keep him in thoughts and prayers. Sounds good though.
