On Thursday, the NFL owners voted 31-0 with the Oakland Raiders abstaining to lift the lockout they imposed on players since March, pending re-certification of the players’ union and ratification of the deal.
I have heard mixed reaction from players, ranging from those stating they think it will pass to some arguing that the deal was not even presented to the players for review prior to the owners’ vote.
If the union votes to ratify the new CBA that will provide 10 years of labor peace, training camps will open July 27th. But the Bears’ appearance in the Hall of Fame Game is scratched.
Per ESPN’s Chris Mortensen via profootballtalk.com, players will vote on the deal today.
Let’s get this done-I have many plans to make hinging on whether or not there will be football in September.
