In a move I never thought I’d see happen, today per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears will be moving left tackle Chris Williams to left guard Sunday against the Seahawks, a move that sends Roberto Garza to the bench.
I know it sounds like hindsight, but I did catch myself wondering within the last week why the Bears wouldn’t try Williams at guard when he recovered from his hamstring pull, given the concern about his short arms and that Frank Omiyale seems to play better on the left than the right. But I figured, the Bears would never try something so drastic. So I’m wrong for about the fifth time now with the 2010 Chicago Bears.
We’ll see how it works out. Now, can we get Olin Kreutz replaced? I have always loved Kreutz’ Bears career, but I’m afraid this is just not working anymore.
