This might be some good news for a change, for the Bears anyway. Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has had surgery on his left knee, and will be out for six weeks.
According to USA Today, this brings into question his availability for Indianapolis’ season opener against the Bears. Add this to the already-questionable status of defensive end Dwight Freeney, and things start looking pretty positive to the Bears.
It’s early, we know. But we need some good news.
