Bears’ Webb to Left Tackle

It’s official, for now anyway.  Sophomore offensive tackle J’Marcus Webb has moved from right to left tackle, with rookie Gabe Carimi being installed as the starter on the right side.

Don’t get me wrong, I like what Webb did as a rookie seventh-round draft pick.  I certainly hope he turns out to be the greatest seventh-round offensive lineman steal since Adam Timmerman.

But I also can’t help but remember Jerry Angelo’s other experiments at the critical left tackle position.  Need I mention any other name than Qasim Mitchell?

Prior to the 2010 season I questioned the “Mike Tice is a guru” talk, but after the work he did with the group he had last year, I am glad we have him.

  1. Roy, I just hope the Bears can get a little more cohesiveness out of the offensive line this year or I’m afraid we will see Caleb quaterbacking a lot sooner than later. I don’t want to see any of our QB’s going down this year like last year.
