The defense may have taken a mighty step backwards in 2007 from Super Bowl form. Their quarterbacks and wide receivers are very questionable. Their $18 million running back is a headcase that has never produced on the field. This generation’s Super Bowl window may very well be shut.
But damn, can the Chicago Bears get their draft picks signed.
Yesterday the Bears signed S Craig Steltz, giving them seven picks under contract at a time other teams don’t have any inked.
After the Cedric Benson fiasco in 2005, when Benson was the final draft pick in the league to sign, the Bears have signed their picks at a frantic pace.
If only they handed out Lombardi Trophies to teams based on their acumen for getting their draft picks signed.
