I hope the end of this season isn't as simple as it looks right now (i.e. New England wins it all). I tell you, I've been tired of New England dominance since their 2nd Super Bowl win in 2003.

Seriously though, by and large I agree w/ the sentiment among us Bears fans - it's only 1 loss...to a non-division and non-conference team no less. And the Bears are indeed in excellent shape to wrap up the division and secure at least 1 playoff home game.

Now...if only they can rise up and meet the next challenge better than this one...

We did tip a couple Brady passes though. I'll blame this one on the re-sodding.

"They are who we thought they were!!!" Echoes of Dennis Green. Hoping for a win against Minn, and a loss by GB at NE.

Roy, you’re right, it’s probably just me, but I’m looking at this one a little differently. Agreed obviously that the Lions did us an enormous favor that still sets us up to be in position to win the division by beating the queens, assuming the Patriots destroy them as well.

One thing that people seem to be making a big deal about this morning is that it’s being reported that in the team meeting Saturday, Lovie made what players were referring to as the most emotional/inspirational speech about this game that he has ever made. The player was not cited by name, but said before the game, he would be “shocked” if the Bears didn’t come out fired up and playing their A game. I think we can all agree what we saw was playing to a level far below an F and we were overmatched and outcoached in all areas and looked like a high school team out there. Don’t get me wrong, we all know the Patriots are good, and at this point, best in the NFL.

But, everybody in the world knew what NE was going to try and do, and defensively we played right into their hands with little or no adjustments or different looks from what I saw. Guys were open on every play, gaps were everywhere, and Brady was flawless.

A lot will be made of Cutler’s 2 picks, but the reality is the offense was barely on the field enough to make a difference, and the few opps. they had, did nothing with them. I’m not going to blame Cutler for anything, but it would have been nice to at least see them move the ball more with purpose.

I guess all we can say at this point is the Packers loss really saved us from being in a really tough situation. The significance of them losing like that can’t be overstated at this point, and still leaves us with things in our own hands.

This one didn't feel nearly as bad as the losses in 09 to the bengals, cardinals and ravens. This is the NFL, teams get hot, and NE is just on an absolute terror right now. Lucky for us they host GB next week, probably with Flynn starting.

Forget about this one, go win the NFC North next week and make week 17 meaningless.

Amen JDM, amen. You hit it on the spot-that Packer loss to Detroit is far, far more dooming than the Bears getting killed by New England, as ugly as it was.

The Packers are probably going to be without Aaron Rogers and have to go into NE. A loss there and a Bears win against the Vikings clinches the division. Of course, a Bears win is no lock, but losing to NE isn't that big of a deal. The Packers losing to a crappy division team is huge.
