On the question of whether or not the Bears should go all-out to defeat the Packers in a meaningless game, I’ll just leave it today to trust Lovie Smith on it. It was reported that in 2007 Smith called a meeting with the Chicago media and uttered his famous quote: everyone needs to trust that [...]

Go all out to beat the Packers on Sunday, that is? While they Bears are saying they will play the game as normal with all starters, I don’t believe they will. Despite the fact that history has proven it’s better to play the game as a regular game, even though the Bears have nothing to [...]

Wow. Thanks go out to the Minnesota Vikings and their coach, former Bear defensive back Leslie Frazier. On the virtue of Minnesota’s 24-14 upset of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bears now own the #2 seed in the NFC playoffs and a first round bye. Viking quarterback Joe Webb had a solid performance in the huge [...]

Julius Peppers, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs and Devin Hester are the Chicago Bears’ representatives to the 2010 Pro Bowl. Notable is that this is Urlacher’s first selection since 2006, and the sixth straight appearance for Briggs. Great to see Urlacher, Briggs and Peppers make it even though none of them have put up gaudy statistics [...]

Reading the first part of this article by Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune should make us all remember the genius behind Devin Hester: Bears’ Special Teams Coach Dave Toub. After seeing other special teams coaches rise from that level directly to head coach (John Harbaugh), I have no idea why someone hasn’t hired Toub [...]
