Bears at Falcons 2009

Orton talk?  Check, done, glad we have Cutler.  Benson talk?  Check, done, glad he’s gone.  T.O. talk?  Check, done, not happening.  Time to talk about Bears and Falcons. I find it strange that I was supremely confident that the Bears would go into Indianapolis and beat the Colts on Sunday night in the 2008 season [...]

Terrell Owens Chicago Bears

We all know by this point that it’s not going to happen.  But I noticed this morning that a Chicago Tribune poll shows that 59% of Bears fans would not want the team to deal for [insert negative term here] wide receiver Terrell Owens, currently of the Buffalo Bills. There are compelling arguments on both [...]

Benson, While We’re at it…

Since we discussed Orton and my opinion on him, probably now a good time to discuss the new revisionist thinking on our friend Cedric Benson. Benson was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft-the Bears’ highest draft selection since 1979.  After crying on draft day because he felt the process was unfair [...]

The 800 Pound Gorilla

Time to address the Kyle Orton controversy. Orton seems to currently be the toast of the national media.  The unwanted, forgotten man in Chicago who was doomed to fail in Denver with a failing team.  Instead, Orton’s Broncos are 5-0 and the quarterback’s statistics currently make him look like one of the best in the [...]

Lovie’s Proving Ground Coming

As promised I’ve made liberal use of the Bears not playing this week and focused on other things.  Sorry for the lack of updates.  Hope you’re also using this week to get caught up while missing Bears football.  Actually good to get the bye out of the way early. My thought about the next Bears [...]

Chicago Bears Ballboy-Fast!

I’ll probably slow down on the posts this week due to the forthcoming bye: need to catch up on the  important things in life. I know we’re late to the party on this one, but Bears ballboy Darryl MaGee apparently is faster than many Lions special teamers.  Watch to the end of this short video: [...]

Bears Tag Detroit with 48

Great to see the Bears win over Detroit and put up 48 points.  This was the kind of win we needed to see over an opponent like this.  I said it all day yesterday and will say it again-with this Bears defense thank God we now have an offense that can and will outscore their [...]

Lions at Bears 2009

Last week, I didn’t see any way the Seahawks should have beaten the Bears.  Then I had to chew on those words until the final minutes of the game as Seattle took it down to the wire. I’d like to think the Bears should take it to the Lions-which if they’re a true contender they [...]

Bears’ Briggs Named Defensive POW

Linebacker Lance Briggs was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for this performance against Seattle.  Surprisingly, it’s the first such award for the four-time Pro Bowler.  And now, he also has a sore foot to go along with the hardware. Share
