Courtesy of my friends at www.cbfans.info, Peter King of SI ranks the Chicago Bears 2008 draft as #1. As in the #1 draft he didn’t like. Look, we have to deal with the fact that the Bears didn’t take a quarterback in the 2008 draft. Right or wrong, Jerry Angelo has much more at stake [...]

Not going to have a chance to update the site tomorrow, so this review of the Chicago Bears 2008 draft is written before they make their final three seventh round picks. Here’s a summary: Round 1, Pick 14: T Chris Williams, Vanderbilt Round 2, Pick 44: RB Matt Forte, Tulane Round 3, Pick 70: WR [...]

Well, it’s Mike Mulligan’s mock draft. A few thoughts: Is it me or does Virginia offensive lineman Branden Albert seem like this year’s version of Jonathan Sullivan? Sullivan was a defensive tackle that flew up everyone’s draft board in 2003, the Saints traded up to get him, and he was a complete bust in the [...]

Yes, the Chicago Bears need receivers, after losing their top two from 2007. So today they re-signed Rashied Davis to a multi-year deal. I’ll have to hold my excitement here a little. Yes, I’ll always remember Davis for his game-winning touchdown catch at Minnesota in 2006. His critical catches against Tampa, then Seattle in the [...]

The one thing that’s refreshing about the Urlacher contract hissy fit, and the others for that matter, is it means the Bears actually have multiple players worthy of demanding more money. For those that don’t remember, during the Wanny Years this was never a problem. The only guys making big money were terrible free agent [...]

Should have called it “contract problem bits.” As if we didn’t already know it, now Devin Hester is stewing about his contract. Urlacher’s comments to his buddy Jay Glazer on the contract situation. And as a side note, it is interesting to me how many different NFL players attended Glazer’s wedding. What happens when there [...]

Wow, now the player that did more to turn around Chicago Bears football since 2000 than any other, earning millions of dollars and at least previously a place in the hearts of many fans is making like Chad Johnson. Brian Urlacher is reportedly asking for a trade and threatening to retire if the $59 million [...]

I won’t be posting a mock or a position-by-position analysis of every potential pick the Bears could make in next week’s NFL draft. I love draft day and am wildly interested in it, but there are 18.5 million other websites that cover this in more detail than I can. Seems like every year I have [...]

Just had my first look at the schedule, released 45 minutes ago. Here are this fan and season ticket holder’s observations, before reading anyone else’s observations. September 7 7:15 p.m. at Indianapolis: Rough start to the season on the road. We’ll find out real quick if the Bears will be contenders in 2008, a fringe [...]

The 2008 NFL Schedule is coming about 29 minutes from now, 1 p.m. central. Kudos to Brad Biggs, who somehow already identified that the Bears and Packers will meet in December on Monday Night Football. Who knows how. Check back for an evaluation of the schedule shortly after it’s released. Share
